Understand and appreciate the implementation and use of computing systems, study its architecture and its interactions of hardware and software. Learn and develop strategies for effective design and their applications.
To address the need for a more specialized skills in computing as required by the academe and the industries, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science has branched out into two tracks, namely: Foundations and Software Engineering.
A. Foundations of CS Track

The Foundations of CS Track introduces the student to the scope and breadth of the field of computing and prepares him/her for graduate studies and the academe. Sufficient material is also given to equip one for industrial practice should the student opt to follow that direction. Its objective are:

- To develop graduates who will have a goop grasp of the scope and breadth of the field of computing;
- To produce graduates who will be knowledgeable in the basics of computing in order to cope with the rapid changes in the technology;
- To produce graduates who will be knowledgeable in the theories of computing in preparation for graduate studies and the teaching profession;
- To develop graduates who will be able to conduct researches in the specific areas of computing;
- To develop graduates who will have sufficient knowledge of the other relevant areas of computing in preparation for jobs in the industry;
- To develop graduates who will have an appreciation of their roles in society: responsible individuals grounded in the ethics of their profession.
B. Software Engineering Track

The Software Engineering Track will equip the student with the principles of computer science and engineering discipline to enable him/her to develop cost-effective solutions to software problems. It objectives are:

- To produce graduates who will be knowledgeable in the basics of computing in order to cope with the rapid changes in technology;
- To develop graduates who are grounded in abstraction and modelling -- essential and necessary skills in the practice of software engineering;
- To develop graduates who posses specialized domain knowledge beyond the computing discipline for purposes of supporting software development in the specific domain applications;
- To develop graduates who will be able to design and implement software applications using the principles of software engineering;
- To produce graduates who can conduct researches in computing in general, and in software engineering in particular;
- To develop graduates who will have an appreciation of their roles in society: responsible individuals grounded in the ethics of their profession.
